A Positive Spin on Death

In the song “So Little Time”, on my album “Truckload of Songs”, one verse says “Try to say thanks when you go. You got to live: to take and to give. Try to say thanks when you go.” This is a great idea that I would like to live up to, or die up to, depending on which way you slice it. Some have a strong faith that after we leave this mortal flesh, our souls are transported to a place of transcendence and reunion with God, and with those who died before us. Others say hogwash, we simply cease to exist after death. Some avoid the whole topic until they are at death’s door. As for me, I’m more hopeful than I used to be about good things later on. I decided to write a spiritual that leaps further into the faith department to see how it feels. So far, so good.

  1. Wow, that’s beautiful! The first one I came to (in reverse order) wouldn’t play on my computer. I’ll try again.
